Weather

Baja enjoys Mediterranean-like weather year round, rarely exceeding 85 degrees F and seldom less than 55 degrees F; with coastal fog and a mild winter rainy season similar to southern California. The rainy season runs November through March, with very little to no precipitation the rest of the year. Evenings are generally cooler in comparison to warm daytime temperatures.

What to See & Do

Valle de Guadalupe Wine Country.  This fertile valley provides 90% of the wines of Mexico. The region has gained an international reputation during the last decade due to its warm variety and unique blends, as well as excellent gourmet cuisine and several artisanal products.

PaiPai EcoPark & La Bufadora Blue. In the vicinity of Ensenada city you will find two interesting attractions, the PaiPai EcoPark, enjoy  an interest experience while  interacting with rescued cubs such as lions, jaguar, black jaguars, tigers, lemurs, monkeys, and anacondas. You may also visit the nearby La Bufadora Blowhole for an amazing experience as you watch this famous blowhole suck the sea water from an undersea cave and spits it out the cave's top drenching visitors and locals alike.

The small seaside community of Puerto Nuevo features over 35 lobster restaurants around the open-air markets, bargain for beautiful Mexican silver jewelry, shop for souvenirs, or just stop by for a margarita. The people are hospitable so plan to join them during one of the many festivals scheduled during the year.

Surfing in the South Coast of Northern Baja is excellent with surf breaks like the popular Kilometer 38. The many beach and reef breaks offer consistently great surf year round. The South Coast  gets south swells in the summer from large storms in the South Pacific and winters swells from the Pacific Northwest making for very consistent wave action.

Sailing conditions in Northern Baja are conducive to boats of all sizes. Long swells and side shore winds in some areas make it ideal for those who want to surf waves on Hobie Cats and sailboards. For those who want to maintain larger vessels in the area two nearby Marinas  are  available

Sport fishing enthusiasts reel in big game fish like tuna, marlin, wahoo, dorado and sailfish. Charter boats abound in nearby Ensenada with  knowledgeable guides who will take you to the best spots.

Whale Watching Tours in Ensenada. There are several companies that specialize in whale watch tours. Most of these companies have had years of experience, and have the whale watching routine down to an art. Each season from December 15 to April 15, enjoy the sightings of the magnificent gray whale migration on a journey from the cold northern seas of Alaska to the warm lagoons located at the center of the peninsula of Baja California. Traveling more than 10,000 miles, gray whales swim day and night for about four months.

Golf. Bajamar offers one of the most spectacular golf experiences in the western hemisphere, it is often refer as the "Pebble Beach of Mexico", its scenic fairways and beautiful greens  contribute to a memorable golfing experience for players of all skill levels and abilities. All three courses have something unique to offer the golfer.

Zip Lining and ATV Countryside Adventures. Las Canadas is a campground located about 30 minutes (driving time) south of Ensenada's Town Center. Among the services and facilities they  offer are 2 Swimming Pools, The biggest Children Water Park in the state, ATV's Rental and an ATV's Track, Clean Restrooms and Showers with Hot Water, a Lake with Paddle Boats, Lots of green areas for camping and our main attraction: The Canopy Tour. The Canopy Tour at Las Canadas is a tour in which you get to live the experience of flying in 5 Zip Lines,

Cheese & Wine at its best at Cava de Marcelo. Travel a wine and cheese route on a tour of the Ojos Negros Valley, located east of Ensenada. Taste artisan cheeses paired with quality wines at La Cava de Marcelo, where you’ll learn about Ramonetti cheese-making on a guided tour of the cellar.

Dining and Nightlife. There are many wonderful restaurants ranging from family owned taco stands to more formal, upscale dining experiences. The South Coast and Ensenada  boasts several outstanding restaurants where you will enjoy a wonderful culinary experience. Nearby Bajamar, in the seaside village of La Mision you will find casual dining and live music. Sunday Brunch is very popular and it is offer at most 4 and five star hotels in Ensenada and several restaurants.
